Karen Gately - Varsity Coach

 

Mrs. Gately, is in her sixth year of teaching English at Conestoga, is a graduate of Downingtown High School and Shippensburg University.  At Shippensburg, Karen played field hockey and lacrosse for four years and was named captain of both.  She finished ranking sixth in all-time career goals for field hockey and was chosen to represent Shippensburg at the 1997 All-Star Games.  In lacrosse, Karen was named All-PSAC and All-American.  Upon graduation,  Karen taught at James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg PA, and was the head field hockey coach at Mercersburg Academy and the head lacrosse coach at St. James School in Hagerstown Maryland.  Karen is the varsity field hockey coach at Conestoga.  She is currently on maternity leave taking care of her daughter, Tess.  Karen is looking forward to another successful season.

Meaghan McDugall - Assistant Varsity Coach

 

Coach McDugall is a 12th grade Economics and Government teacher and a 9th grade World Cultures teacher.   In the fall she worked with Coach Gately as Assistant Varstiy Field Hockey Coach.  She graduated from Wissahickon High School in 2001.  She played Field Hockey and Lacrosse and was the Team Captain of both.  Meaghan went on to play lacrosse at Bloomsburg University for 4 years.  She helped the team advance to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship Game all 4 years.  In Coach McDugall's sophomore year she helped the team win the PSAC Championship game and advance to the Division II NCAA final four! 

 
Meg Ryan  - JV Coach

Coach Ryan is a graduate of West Chester East High School and Villanova University. She graduated from West Chester East in 2004 where she played field hockey, track, and lacrosse. She went on to play field hockey at Villanova University for 4 years. She helped her team advance to the Big East Tournament three years in a row. Her junior year she helped the team enter the Top 20 Division I Field Hockey Rankings for the first time in team history. She was also a member of the Division I National Academic Squad all four years. Currently Coach Ryan is pursuing her Master’s degree in secondary school counseling at Villanova University.
